Patna : Amitabh Kumar Singh of Samastipur district of Bihar also has an important role in the successful launching of Chandrayaan-3. They are part of the leading team. In this mission, he is working as the Operations Director.

Chandrayaan-3 will land on the surface of the Moon under the supervision of Amitabh and his team posted as Deputy Director in ISRO. He has been the Deputy Project Director and Operations Director in Chandrayaan-2.

He has also worked as Project Manager in Mission Chandrayaan-1. In view of his experience, important responsibility has been given in this mission as well. The people of Samastipur are feeling proud to see the achievement of Amitabh, who used to take apart the parts of the radio while playing and reconnecting them.

Ramchandra Singh, a resident of Kuboliram village under Pusa block and retired from the post of Hindi professor in Sarvodaya High School Vaini, is proud of his son’s success. He has been ill for the last few days. There is also a problem in walking, but as soon as he heard about the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, he became emotional.

Talking about Amitabh’s education, his education took place in the village itself. Passed 10th from Sarvodaya High School Vaini. Studied MSc in Electronics from AN College, Patna in 1989. After this did MTech from BIT Mesra.

Amitabh’s father tells that in the last year of doing MTech, he applied for project work at three centers of ISRO. He got the call from Jodhpur center. He joined ISRO in 2002.
